The KC Soul heart is dedicated to the late Marva Whitney. She’s a soul icon from Kansas City, KS and was known for some awesome songs, like Unwind Yourself and It’s my Thing. She worked with James Brown in the late sixties, early seventies. Everybody talks about KC jazz, but Kansas City has got a lot of soul as well.
