I titled this mural "Mother Winter" after the blue lady in the cold grey clouds featured in the piece. Most days when I went out to paint were really gloomy, cold and overcast so I guess it kinda shows in the painting. This mural was sponsored by the Mattie Rhodes Mural Arts Program Inspiring Transformation (MAP IT) initiative along with KC Parks and Recreation Department. Big thanks go out to JT Daniels for hooking up the face in the skylight and to Ryan Terrell, my assistant who was on point during the whole project. We worked on this mural slowly for 45hrs over two months. Acrylics were used to paint this due to the fact that it was indoors and we didn't want to fume up the center while working. I was a little bit out of my comfort zone painting by hand but overall I am pleased with the outcome and gracious for the opportunity to paint and learn some new techniques at the same time.
